The Opportunity
James Adams is delighted to be supporting a major UK-based VAR as they expand their leadership team within their thriving Data Centre & AI division.
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Data Centre & AI Sales Director to drive growth across this critical business unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and fast-growing organisation with deep partnerships across key Tier 1 vendors, including Dell, HPE, IBM, Cisco, NetApp, Pure Storage, and Lenovo.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the sales strategy, building client relationships, and leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional outcomes for enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and deliver the Data Centre & AI sales strategy aligned to business objectives and market opportunities.
* Lead, coach, and inspire a growing team of sales professionals focused on Data Centre solutions, AI, and emerging technologies.
* Build and deepen relationships with Tier 1 vendors (Dell, HPE, IBM, Cisco, NetApp, Pure Storage, Lenovo) to drive joint go-to-market success.
* Engage and consult with Enterprise, Mid-Market, and Public Sector clients on their Data Centre modernisation and AI transformation journeys.
* Develop and manage pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics, reporting directly into the Commercial Leadership Team.
* Stay at the forefront of industry trends across AI, Edge, Hybrid Cloud, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Storage, and Networking.
* Represent the company at industry events, partner forums, and client meetings to raise brand profile and drive new business.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a Sales Director or equivalent leadership role within VAR, IT reseller, or IT solutions & services sector.
* In-depth knowledge of Data Centre, Hybrid Cloud, AI, and Emerging Technologies.
* Strong existing relationships or proven track record working with Tier 1 vendors (Dell, HPE, IBM, Cisco, NetApp, Pure Storage, Lenovo).
* Strong leadership and team development skills — able to build, scale, and inspire high-performing teams.
* Excellent commercial acumen with a strategic mindset.
* Ability to engage confidently with C-level clients and vendor stakeholders.
* Passion for innovation and delivering client outcomes.
