Software Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Glasgow
Profile: You have a Masters degree from an Engineering University (Aeronautical/Space Engineering, Computer Science) and significant experience in your field. You are recognised as a team player who enjoys collaborative work, an effective communicator (especially in conflict), a mentor willing to share knowledge, analytical, resourceful, structured, and a convincing and persuasive problem‑solver.
Competencies:
* Deep understanding of Software Engineering processes, methods and tools.
* Experience with Software Engineering workbenches within an operational context.
* Good technical culture, especially in software development.
* Experience with scheduling and planning.
* Decision‑making skills.
LIFE AS A THALES SOFTWARE PROCESSES, METHODS AND TOOLS SUPPORT ROLE
* Provide Software engineers and project managers with advice on engineering environment and configure workbenches for Software projects.
* Act as a mentor to encourage apprenticeship, continuous improvement and feedback culture.
* Set up an environment where trust and transparency are key pillars.
* Co‑create and follow team performance and quality KPIs.
* Train engineers on Software‑tooled processes, practices and methods.
* Contribute to the capitalisation and continuous improvement of best practices and service offers (training sessions, guidelines, user manuals).
* Participate in knowledge sharing such as webinars, writing articles on engineering communities.

Security Clearance: This role requires SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if you currently hold it, otherwise the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. For full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks. In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
