Job Overview
24-hour Registered Nurse post in the Fracture and Orthopaedic unit at Royal Gwent Hospital.
An exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse in our FOU Outpatient clinic at Royal Gwent Hospital. The unit is an established centre for the British Orthopaedic Association Casting Certificate course, which may be undertaken after gaining experience in the plaster room.
The role involves working with patients from babies to older adults, with occasional cross-site work supporting services in GUH, NHH, and YYF. The team is supportive and hardworking.
Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care, providing prescribed nursing care independently, contributing to practice development, and acting in accordance with the NMC (UKCC) Code of Conduct.
Main Duties
* Complete a locally approved orientation program.
* Support a patient and public-focused clinical environment.
* Assist the Team Leader with managing a patient caseload.
* Develop an environment that values nursing care.
* Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care.
* Communicate effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
* Ensure quality of care and stay updated with nursing advances.
* Advocate for patients and their families.
* Maintain accurate documentation, including IT and data input.
* Participate in standards monitoring.
Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome.
