Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) - Luton
We currently have an opportunity for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join our team in Luton. This role is for 30 hours per week to cover maternity leave, with the option of hybrid working from our Luton office and home. As an IDVA, you will support victims of domestic abuse who primarily live in Luton. This role is part of our wider specialist services covering Bedfordshire.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing high-quality support and advocacy to victims of domestic abuse.
2. Managing a caseload, assessing risks and needs, and providing tailored crisis interventions, safety planning, advocacy, and emotional/practical support.
3. Collaborating with other agencies and advocating to help service users access necessary services.
4. Working within a multi-agency framework, including MARAC and other local partnerships, to coordinate responses to domestic abuse.
5. Promoting the service and raising awareness through training delivery.
6. Supporting the Daily Domestic Abuse meeting in the IFD (Integrated Front Door).
Requirements:
* Experience in support and advocacy for victims of domestic abuse.
* Ability to prioritize work and manage conflicting demands.
* Ideally, hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification, or relevant experience.
