What you'll be doing
Role Purpose:
A Senior Quantity Surveyor is experienced QS who has a track record in managing all costs relating to civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Typically they will be a Chartered Member of the RICS, ICES or CIOB. They will have experience of managing a small team of less experienced commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified.
Who we're looking for
As a SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR, you will have the following accountabilities:
1. Orders information and systematically checks data
2. Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents
3. Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties
4. Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location
5. Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
6. Monitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately
7. Analyses the commercial progress and report to senior project staff
8. Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes
9. Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy
10. Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required
11. Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required
12. Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation
13. Maintains own Personal Development Plan
14. Actively supports the development of others
15. Produces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirations
16. Supports recruitment of lower grades
You will have the following qualities and experience:
17. BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
18. Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards)
