Primary Purpose of the Role
Lead the Quality Assurance team and function on a daily basis, supporting the QA Manager, leading by example to deliver the high level of technical expertise required by our customers.
Key Areas of Responsibility and Standards of Performance
The duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
· Carry out food safety and quality checks in the area assigned (temperature, fat content, size). Decision making, dealing with daily issues, food safety and quality, scanning product into QC Hold as required. Paperwork organisation in the morning.
· Carry out metal detector checks (CCP and in-line mince detectors as required).
· Carry out additional tasks in the factory, as directed by the QA Manager or QC Supervisor.
· Supporting staff in all production areas when there is staff absence or high volumes of production/testing.
· Ensuring all requested information is dealt with and communicated in a timely manner to the QA Manager or QC Supervisor.
· Support with collection of daily / monthly micro samples (finished product, swabs, water, hand swabs), logging them onto the system if requested.
· Surface & product DNA testing, support QC manager in sample gathering samples/swabs.
· Daily / weekly checks – scale calibration, temperature probe calibration (weekly / monthly), glass audits (daily / monthly / 6 monthly), titration checks, fridge temperature checks, tray wash temperature checks.
· Ensure that all factory processes are run as company procedures state, correct staff if things are done outside the agreed procedure. Notify area manager or supervisor if any food safety/hygiene/quality issue is apparent. Any issues that cannot be dealt with to be reported to Quality / Technical Manager.
· Support if required development of new NPD products and 1st production runs within the factory.
· Managing the labelling operation during printing – ensuring correct information is generated and signed off as correct and accurate on the labels.
· Sending certificates of conformance to relative customers when required.
· Preparation and participation in factory visits and technical audits to support the technical / quality manager.
· Undertake any reasonable task as requested by the company

Qualifications
Food Safety Lv2 ✓
HACCP Lv2 ✓
Experience
Previous experience in a Stock, Credit or Financial Control environment.
Experience working within a manufacturing environment
Skill/ Knowledge
Good interpersonal skills, with attention to detail
Good working knowledge of using Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Good understanding of Finance functions and processes.
Knowledge of food manufacturing industry.
