Criminology Graduate - Learning Support Assistant

A specialist mental health school in Reading is seeking a Criminology Graduate to join their team as soon as possible, in the role of Learning Support Assistant.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who face a range of social, emotional and mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, attachment needs, and low self-esteem. Your role will be crucial in helping them navigate the school day, providing academic guidance and therapeutic support.
Responsibilities
* Working 1:1 and in small groups with vulnerable students.
* Learning and implementing a trauma‑informed, therapeutic approach within the classroom.
* Helping students build confidence, resilience and emotional regulation skills.
* Tutoring students in key subject areas, particularly where they are less confident.
* Collaborating with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
Qualifications
We are seeking a graduate who is confident, proactive, with a calm and supportive outlook. Previous experience working with children and/or vulnerable individuals would be beneficial, but not essential.

* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
* Pay: £90 – £100 per day
