Buying Manager
up to £78,000 DOE

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Buying Manager to join a leading national retailer within their Commercial team at their London Head Office. Offering a very flexible hybrid working policy.
You will be responsible for maximising the growth in both sales & profitability while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued development within the own brand buying department. Some of your duties will include;
* Develop and manage the buying strategy for the specified categories within own brand food.
* Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
* Understand key cost drivers (and impacts) within your category and continuously identify opportunities for improvement
* Full responsibility of negotiation of cost price increases and ensuring timelines are communicated throughout the process.
* Continue to work collaboratively with current suppliers on reducing COGS and expand the range opportunities
* Maintain outstanding levels of supplier service and work seamlessly with internal departments to resolve and issues promptly.
* Always seeking new suppliers to deliver a stronger commercial offer than current suppliers, or to supply new / alternate products and categories to the business
* Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines with the own brand team.
* Working closely with the new product development teams to maintain quality levels within products.
* Presenting reports, figures and trend information to the Senior Management team
Key requirements for the role;
* Proven previous Buying / Procurement / Sourcing experience within a fast-moving FMCG / Food environment.
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
* Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing retail market.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
* Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
