Role: Test and Installation Engineer
Location: Abingdon
Salary: 30-35k depending on experience plus overtime
Working hours: Monday – Thursday 7.45 – 4.15 / Fri 7.45 – 1.15
Travel: Occasional travel 2-4 times a year for 2-4 days at a time is required.
The ideal candidate will be a test and installation or technician with vacuum, magnets, or super-conducting experience although this is NOT critical. Your role is to focus on in-house testing as the company has a test facility and factory. Each test can last 1 month, and you will likely manage 2 tests per month. At the end of each test, you will then build the MRI, run tests on a complete system, and be responsible for the packaging. This is a factory-based role, and you must be able to work alone with minimal supervision and be happy to pull parts apart and rebuild having cabling and routing experience.
Main Duties:
Testing, staging, and bringing together multiple parts of the MR system through the testing process. Adhering to company quality management processes and procedures while helping the team meet challenging timescales. In-house training will be given for this role.
Skills & Experience:
Understanding of Electronics & Vacuums. Experience working with superconducting magnets. Ability to work effectively with others. Self-disciplined. Competency in MS Office packages. Knowledge of working with spreadsheets & databases. Excellent communication skills both written and verbally. Self-planning and organizational skills. Prepared to travel occasionally within the UK and abroad.
Benefits:
Company pension scheme whereby the company pays 3% each month and the employees pay 5%. 25 days a year holiday, running from 1st Jan – 31 Dec, plus bank holidays. Should the company decide to close between Christmas and New Year, these days will be a bonus.
