What will you do on the programme?
Join our Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering Graduate Programme and contribute to delivering UK’s impactful engineering projects. You’ll support work across the engineering lifecycle—from technology innovation and concept design to production, commissioning, in-service support, and decommissioning. Projects may include submarine design, military vehicle conversion, ship refurbishments, next-generation nuclear power plants, and advancing safer, more efficient rail networks. You’ll apply engineering knowledge to meaningful projects, collaborating with experienced professionals to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.
Programme structure
Over two years, you’ll rotate through placements every three to six months, exploring a variety of projects and teams. Some rotations may involve different locations. You’ll build a strong foundation in electrical, control and instrumentation engineering, with increasing responsibilities such as leading small teams and overseeing projects. Placements can be aligned with your interests and career goals to build relevant experience.
Development and support
From day one you’ll receive structured support, personalised training, and dedicated mentorship. You’ll join our Graduate Development Programme with expert-led masterclasses on communication, personal branding, resilience, and wellbeing. We offer guidance toward Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and cover related fees.

Requirements
* We accept a wide range of degrees in Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Aerospace, Avionics, and Software. Degree accreditation by the relevant institution is preferred.
* Security clearance requirements: BPSS and Security Check (SC) clearance may be required. Some programmes are subject to security and trade control restrictions depending on birthplace, nationality, citizenship or residency. Details: GOV.UK security vetting pages.
Location
Rosyth, Scotland, with placements across the UK possible. The LGE business in Rosyth designs and delivers environmentally focused cargo handling and fuel gas solutions for the marine industry. Agile working is supported; on-site presence is expected several days per week, with relocation considered for placements.
