Job Description: Due to continued growth within a number of our business areas, we have a requirement for additional Project Engineering Managers within the Integrated Sensing and Protection (ISP) Line of Business (LoB) within Leonardo Electronics UK. Within this LoB, the projects are diverse and exciting, ranging from new core product development, business capture, customer-funded projects and in-service support contracts. Within ISP, we work on a wide variety of technologies, focusing on leading projects around our Communications and CEMA products and systems.
The role of a Project Engineering Lead is to manage the total engineering activity on a project or portfolio of projects, lead cross-disciplinary engineering teams, ensure compliance with customer requirements, contractual and legislative requirements, and plan and manage engineering effort from performance, schedule and cost perspectives.
Reporting to a Project Engineering Manager, the Project Engineering Lead contributes to the monthly engineering governance cycle and builds relationships to ensure realistic resourcing. The role may involve business winning activities, including coordinating engineering costs, preparing plans and engagement in bid reviews. The candidate should be self-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic, with strong leadership and communication skills, and possess broad product design, commercial and business awareness.
