The Role
As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient strip-down and reassembly of vehicles in line with approved repair estimates and methods. You’ll play a key role in ensuring repairs are completed accurately, on time, and to the highest quality standards within a busy bodyshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strip and refit vehicles in line with repair estimates, methods, and procedures
2. Carry out all dismantling and reassembly work to a high standard, ensuring quality checks are completed throughout
3. Identify and report any deviations from the estimate or repair methods to the estimator immediately
4. Advise the Bodyshop Team Leader of any additional work identified during the repair process
5. Ensure all work is completed within allocated repair times
6. Check parts availability against estimates to prevent delays, returning unused parts for credit where applicable
7. Supervise and support non-qualified staff when required
8. Ensure all tools, equipment, and safety-related materials are in date and fit for purpose
9. Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with all health and safety regulations
10. Undertake additional reasonable duties as required by management
Experience & Requirements
11. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an MET Technician role
12. ATA accreditation preferred but not essential
13. Strong understanding of bodyshop repair processes and methods
14. Ability to work accurately from job cards and estimates
15. Good attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
16. Able to work independently and as part of a wider bodyshop team
