Intervention Teacher (EAL & Speech and Language Support)Primary School, Central Preston
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and enthusiastic Intervention Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive school community in Central Preston. This is a unique and highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young learners, particularly those with English as an Additional Language (EAL), including children who may be new arrivals to the UK.
This part-time role (3 days per week, 8:30am-3:30pm) will commence in September 2026. The role focuses on delivering targeted support to individuals and small groups, helping children develop their language, communication skills and confidence so they can fully access learning across the curriculum.
About the Role
* Providing targeted intervention support for pupils with EAL
* Supporting children who are new to English and/or new to the UK education system
* Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions focused on speech, language and communication development
* Working closely with class teachers and staff to identify needs, plan support and track progress
* Supporting pupils to build vocabulary, confidence and understanding to access classroom learning
* Playing a key role in promoting inclusion and removing barriers to learning

* Confident working with children with EAL and early language development needs
* Experience or understanding of speech and language interventions
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff across school
