Overview
The Outward Reinsurance (ORe) unit ensures the Atradius Group outward reinsurance programme is placed within the Reinsurance Market in line with the Atradius Supervisory Board mandate. ORe provides reinsurance analysis to identify the best balance between risk mitigation, solvency measures, accounting profit and economic profit. Once placed, Atradius Group reinsurance treaties have their statement of accounts and settlement advice administered by ORe. ORe also provides management reporting to the reinsurers and commute historical reinsurance at the appropriate time. ORe also works with the wider Atradius business in setting up facultative reinsurance to facilitate insurance and surety commercial arrangements with co-operation partners. A vacancy for a Permanent Analyst has become available within the Outward Reinsurance Finance, Accounting & Analytics team within ERM. The role will involve exposure to many of the units, and countries, throughout the Group and their various insurance and surety products. The role will involve understanding reinsurance requirements from across the Group and applying these terms and conditions to create financial reporting within given time scales. This role will be full time 36 - hours per week. In Cardiff, we also operate a flexible hybrid working system, where you can work in the office three days a week and the other two days from home.
Responsibilities
* Support the Outward Reinsurance team in the creation of the technical account statements and settlement advice for the Group reinsurance treaties
* Support commercial units across the Group with their reinsurance requirements to enable their sales fulfilments
* Support finance units across the Group in their application of reinsurance results under various accounting
* Contribute to the maintenance of reinsurance data within the Database of Outward Reinsurance Agreements (DORA)
* Extract and compile data to produce management reports to support controls and decision making throughout the reinsurance process life cycle
* Support Group-wide projects where outward reinsurance input and contribution is required
Qualifications
* The applicants should be self-motivated, inquisitive and have an eye for detail while working to deadlines. Excellent numeracy skills
* A logical thinker with the ability to devise creative solutions to problem solving
* A proactive, focused individual able to deal with multiple tasks within deadlines
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with an excellent attention to detail
* Comfortable working in a multi-cultural & international environment
* Comfortable using a variety of software applications and open to developing skills where there are gaps in their current experience and ability. Applications that will be used to a proficient level: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Business Objects. Applications that would benefit the user: Oracle SQL Developer (with SQL coding), R Studio (with R coding), Microsoft Excel/Access VBA
