Job Description
Job Purpose
To ensure the efficient operation of assets within the assigned area through effective setting, monitoring, and maintenance.
To set machines following safe working procedures, ensuring operators are signed off on the competency matrix.
To assist with daily mechanical breakdowns, report technical issues to maintenance, and train operators in best practices for asset operation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety: Share responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment by identifying non-conformance and risks, reporting these to the Team Leader and/or Line Management.
2. Operational Tasks: Set, operate, and troubleshoot assets using technical knowledge and competence.
3. Data Entry: Input data into the PC, including work orders and part specifications, to ensure proper setup for manufacturing.
4. Fault Finding: Diagnose daily generic issues and escalate complex faults through maintenance reporting systems.
5. Inspection: Inspect production first-offs to prevent passing rejects through the process.
6. Production Scheduling: Follow production schedules as per SAP, prioritizing work orders and due dates.
7. Quality: Produce quality products at the specified output rates and within drawing tolerances to minimize scrap.
8. Machine Operation: Operate all machine controls, including mechanical, push button, and computer interfaces.
9. Documentation: Complete daily reports, guard checks, quality control reports, and other production-related documentation accurately and timely.
10. Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor operators on safe working processes and procedures.
11. Scrap Management: Record and segregate scrap according to procedures.
12. Maintenance: Participate in team-based maintenance and general machinery upkeep.
13. Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area following company procedures.
14. Equipment Introduction: Assist with the introduction of new equipment as required.
15. Cross-Training: Train on multiple asset types to meet production demands, managed through the local training matrix.
This role is Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm.
