Job Title: Minister of Religion Childrens Department Reports To: Senior Pastor Department: Childrens Ministry Job Purpose: To provide Spirit-filled leadership and pastoral oversight of the Childrens Ministry, ensuring that every child experiences the love of God and grows in faith through engaging, Bible-based, and Holy Spiritled teaching. The Minister of Religion (Childrens Department) will develop and implement dynamic programs that help children build a strong foundation in Christ and participate actively in the life of the church. Key Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Spiritual Leadership and Teaching Lead and oversee all spiritual activities for children, ensuring that teaching, worship, and fellowship are rooted in Biblical truth and led by the Holy Spirit. Prepare and deliver engaging Bible lessons that encourage children to understand and apply Gods Word in their daily lives. Facilitate childrens praise and worship sessions that promote joy, freedom, and spiritual expression through singing, dancing, and prayer. Encourage children to be filled with the Holy Spirit, teaching them about prayer, faith, and godly character. Organize childrens Sunday services, Bible clubs, and midweek programs in alignment with the churchs vision. 2. Pastoral Care and Discipleship Provide pastoral guidance and emotional support to children and their families, offering prayer, counsel, and encouragement. Visit and follow up with families as needed to maintain connection and support spiritual growth. Mentor children to develop Christ-like attitudes, moral discipline, and love for Gods Word. Support parents in their responsibility to raise their children in the fear and knowledge of God. Work closely with the pastoral team to identify and address spiritual or emotional needs among the children. 3. Leadership and Volunteer Development Recruit, train, and supervise teachers, youth leaders, and volunteers to serve in the Childrens Ministry. Lead team devotions and prayer sessions to build spiritual strength and unity among volunteers. Provide ongoing training and mentorship to ensure teaching quality and consistency with Pentecostal doctrine. Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor performance and spiritual growth within the team. Promote a culture of excellence, faith, and accountability among staff and volunteers. 4. Program Planning and Events Plan and coordinate annual childrens events such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), childrens conventions, holiday camps, and outreach crusades. Develop creative programs that integrate Bible teaching, worship, arts, and games to engage children holistically. Organize special services where children can minister through songs, drama, and recitations. Work with the church leadership to ensure childrens participation in general church events and community outreach. Manage departmental budgets, ensuring stewardship and transparency in all financial matters. 5. Safeguarding and Administration Ensure that all activities comply with church safeguarding and child protection policies. Maintain accurate attendance records, consent forms, and incident reports. Monitor safety in classrooms, play areas, and during off-site activities. Liaise with church administration to manage logistics, resources, and materials for childrens programs. 6. Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and ministry heads to align the Childrens Departments vision with the churchs overall mission. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about programs, events, and their childrens progress. Represent the Childrens Department in church meetings, leadership retreats, and ministry planning sessions. Build positive relationships with families, encouraging strong Christian homes that nurture childrens faith. Person Specification Essential Qualifications and Experience: A born-again, Spirit-filled believer committed to the doctrines and teachings of the Pentecostal faith. Proven experience working with children in a church or ministry setting. Demonstrated ability to teach Biblical principles in an engaging, age-appropriate way. Experience in leading worship, prayer, and childrens fellowship sessions. Strong leadership and pastoral care skills. Training in safeguarding or willingness to undertake child protection training. Desirable Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Theology, Christian Education, or Religious studies. Experience organizing childrens outreach programs or evangelistic events. Key Skills and Attributes: Strong Biblical foundation and reliance on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills. Creativity and enthusiasm in working with children. Compassionate, patient, and spiritually mature. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of the wider church leadership. Working Conditions Based primarily at the church or ministry center with occasional travel for outreach or events. Requires weekend, evening, and special event participation.
