Job Description
The successful candidate for this Part Time Finance Director position will have a broad remit, supporting the board as well as mentoring the next generation of finance leadership for the company.This role will initially start as a 4 day per week opportunity, tapering down as the team around you is developed and you can empower themKey responsibilities will include:
3. Provide strategic financial leadership
4. Acting as a trusted advisor to the MD and leadership team.
5. Mentor and coach the Head of Finance, building confidence and capability for future progression.
6. Manage day-to-day financial operations and oversee support management of the team, including annual reviews, training needs, and setting objectives.
7. Oversee monthly management accounts and variance commentaries for discussion with the MD and SLT.
8. Ensure compliance with group financial policies and maintain consistency across reporting.
9. Manage factoring accounts and stock of raw materials and finished goods, making necessary provisions and adjustments.
10. Track financial and production KPIs, analyse deviations, and make suggestions for improvement.
11. Oversee year-end audit, statutory accounts review, and corporation tax review.
12. Suggest appropriate improvement projects
The Successful Applicant
The successful Part Time Finance Director should have:
13. A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
14. Proven experience in financial leadership within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
15. Strong technical knowledge of product costing, overheads, and stock management.
16. Excellent skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
17. Ability to provide strategic insights and make data-driven decisions.
18. Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
19. Must have the ability and willingness to mentor and develop the team.
This role is being marketed on the basis of an additional 4 day per week, with this then reducing as you develop the team.The role will be offered on an initial 12 month fixed term contract basis, which may be extended depending on the progress made.
What's on Offer
20. Competitive salary ranging from £80,000 to £95,000 on a Full time equivalent basis.
21. Initial 12 month contract which may be extended, or days reduced, depending on the progress made with mentoring the Finance Team to assume the duties.
