We are a team of 10 Dietitians and 4 support workers based across the locality. This post offers a permanent position of 30 hours per week based in Lorn and Islands District General Hospital, Oban, alongside the locality dietitian. Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership spans the beautiful rural west coast of Scotland, managing acute, primary, community health, mental health and social care services across the area. These services are provided to around 88,050 people across 6,909 sq. km. The partnership serves a diverse range of settlements including 6 towns, 46 villages, 156 small settlements and 26 inhabited islands. We share tertiary pathways with our colleagues in Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS bases within our locality are commutable from Glasgow and the Inverclyde area. The post holder will: Support the dietitians in the delivery of nutritional care within Argyll & Bute HSCP, working within defined parameters and scope of practice often unsupervised with a delegated caseload to fulfil service needs, involving a variety of tasks that will encourage and assist the local population to eat a diet that meets their nutritional needs. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills gaining clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient areas of: general medicine including stroke, respiratory, cardiology; surgery & orthopaedics; renal medicine, oncology and weight management. Clinical supervision and support will be provided by highly experienced senior staff and your dietetic support worker peers. We are looking for a team member who is self-motivated, can work well in a team, demonstrate good communication skills and is commitment to quality and improving patient care.
