Planning manager
£65,000 + package

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join a well‑established property developer working on high‑quality residential and mixed‑use schemes across the UK. This role will play a key part in securing planning permissions, managing planning risk, and supporting the delivery of complex developments from early feasibility through to determination.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the planning process across multiple residential and mixed‑use developments
• Prepare, submit and manage planning applications, including reserved matters and amendments
• Liaise with local authorities, planning consultants, statutory bodies and stakeholders
• Manage external consultants including planning consultants, architects and technical teams
• Provide planning strategy advice from site acquisition through to delivery
• Support land acquisition by providing planning due diligence and feasibility assessments
• Negotiate planning conditions and S106 agreements in collaboration with internal and external teams
• Monitor planning policy changes and assess impacts on current and future projects
• Represent the business at planning committees, public consultations and stakeholder meetings
• Work closely with development, design, technical and construction teams to ensure planning compliance
Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in a planning manager or senior planner role
• Strong background in residential and/or mixed‑use development
• In‑depth knowledge of the UK planning system and policy framework
• Experience managing complex planning applications and negotiations
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Commercial awareness and problem‑solving mindset
• Experience working client‑side for a developer or consultancy background preferred
Qualifications:
• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline
• MRTPI chartered (or working towards) preferred
