Overview
The Surgical Unit at Dr Gray's Hospital, NHS Grampian, seeks a substantive Consultant General Surgeon to join a team of two Consultant General Surgeons, two Specialist Doctors and one Associate Specialist. The post is full time (10 posts).
Location
Dr Gray’s Hospital is situated in Elgin, the county town of Moray, offering outstanding natural beauty, high quality of life, excellent schools, affordable housing and superb recreational facilities. The hospital serves a population of about 132,000 and provides emergency and elective general surgical services with links to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, a tertiary referral and major trauma centre. The surgical unit supports two Specialist Trainees, one Core Trainee and four Foundation Doctors and collaborates with the University of Aberdeen for medical student placements.
Qualifications
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. Applicants must have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within six months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview. CESR or Portfolio Pathway route doctors are only eligible for this substantive Consultant post once registration is awarded. International recognised specialist qualifications approved by GMC with confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register are also eligible.
