Structural Engineer – Steel Structures

Seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our engineering and design team, supporting the delivery of complex steelwork and specialist construction projects. This is a key role responsible for the design of steel structures, steel-to-steel connections, and interfaces with other materials, ensuring buildability and efficiency throughout project delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Design steel structures, secondary steelwork and steel-to-steel connections
* Develop structural interfaces with concrete and other materials
* Review client drawings, calculations and specifications
* Provide technical support to pre-construction and tender teams
* Deliver calculations and sketches to detailers for client approval drawings
* Use software including IDEA StatiCa, Tekla Structural Designer and Robot Structural Analysis
* Apply SCI Green Book methodology across all design tasks
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and safety requirements
* Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure buildable and production-optimised designs
* Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Knowledge
* Significant experience designing steel structures & connections
* Strong understanding of steel fabrication standards and construction processes
* Skilled in IDEA StatiCa, Tekla Structures and Robot Structural Analysis
* Understanding of SCI Green Book design methodology
Qualifications
* Degree in Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
* Chartered or working towards Chartered status
