DUTIES Your duties as the Support Worker and Cook include: Your duties as the Support Worker and Cook include: Preparing and Cooking Meals: Plan, cook, and serve balanced meals for residents Maintaining Hygiene Standards: Ensure the kitchen, storage areas, and utensils are kept clean and safe Supporting Residents: Engage positively, encourage appropriate behaviour, and promote wellbeing Health and Safety Compliance: Follow risk assessments and procedures to maintain a safe environment Carrying Out Inspections: Conduct building, room, and grounds checks, and record any incidents or defects Safeguarding and Monitoring: Observe resident behaviour, report concerns, and follow safeguarding policies Stock Control: Assist with ordering, storage, and rotation of provisions Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, including medication logs and incident reports Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with colleagues and escalate issues when required CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Essential Good numeracy and literacy skills Experience of working with a diverse range of people Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings Understanding of safeguarding procedures and confidentiality Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and basic Excel Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations Desirable Previous experience within a residential or supported living environment Experience in a catering or cooking role Understanding of factors related to offending or rehabilitation Knowledge of Health and Safety principles and best practice Experience motivating and supporting others to achieve positive outcomes CLOSING DATE: 10th November 2025 Interviews will be face to face in Newcastle This role is subjected to an Enhanced DBS check.
