The Udder Farm Shop has been established for over 20 yrs and continues to grow. we are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products and service. we operate a Farm Shop, Deli, 140 cover restaurant/coffee shop at our main site and a high street Butchers and Deli 7 miles away, as well as an off site wholesale bakery.
We specialise in whole carcasses with the beef reared on our own farm and other meats sourced from other local farms.
As the Bakery manger you will be part of the senior management team within the business. You will oversee all aspects of the bakery from our Gillingham Dorset site, including product preparation, stock control, team management, and compliance with health and safety regulations. You will play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while maintaining profitability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the bakery site.
* Ensure all products are prepared, displayed, and stored to the highest standards
* Supervise, train, and motivate the bakery team to achieve sales and customer service targets
* Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and health & safety standards
* Monitor stock levels, conduct ordering, and manage waste to optimize profitability
* Develop and implement promotions and seasonal displays to drive sales
* Liaise with suppliers and ensure quality and consistency of products
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a bakery role, with ideally in a supervisory or management position
* A sound grasp of finance and costings, with the ability to manage budgets, stock, and targets effectively
* In-depth knowledge of baking, preparation techniques, and food safety regulations
* Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
* Customer-focused with a passion for quality and service
* Relevant qualifications in food hygiene/safety are an advantage
