Description
The Head of Project Quality is responsible for activating, managing, coordinating, and driving end-to-end quality across all vehicle programmes. This will cut across project management, design, development, suppliers, manufacturing and supply chain, and aftersales.
Key Responsibilities
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work directly with the Vehicle Programme manager and Chief Engineers, to deliver on an individual vehicle programme.
· Own the development of the Project Lifecycle process.
· Own Project Quality targets and Management reporting metrics, ensuring compliance to project delivery to process reporting to the governance board.
· Work directly with Programme line Director and Chief Engineer, driving an individual vehicle programme delivery and Quality.
· Manage Programme Quality and Supply Quality Team delivering projects across GMG group. Creating the quality strategy and tactics across programmes that cuts across engineering, technology, supply chain, Operations and manufacturing to ensure efficient programme delivery.
· Provide programme quality management and mentorship to engineering and delivery teams, quality teams, business operations, styling, and aftersales, with a focus on developing the steps to ensure every process and technology releases meet a high standard.
· Develop, implement, and manage the issue, risk and change management processes at project and product level ensuring all issues, risk and changes are manged through to conclusion.
· Coordinate an end-to end quality automation /analytics strategy to measure and report project progress, to ensure we have appropriate and efficient tools and systems with effective workflow, controls and security aligned to business policies and procedure.
· Work directly with Homologation and compliance to ensure the project is compliance to ensure supports maintenance of OEM status.
· Ownership of APAP and PPAP process ensuring end-to-end oversight from project initiation to full vehicle sign of and PSW completion.
Managerial/Team Leader Responsibilities:
· Establish strong team member relations, and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring.
· Set, support and motivate team members to achieve company, departmental and personal objectives via the company PDP process.
· Conduct 1:1 sessions and work on the development of team member.
· Managing the day-to-day activities of the team and delegate workloads fairly.
· Plan and evaluate department activities and delegate as required.
· Responsible for resource of the team/department and work with the internal recruitment team when needed.
· Lead by example.
· Manage conflict, resolve incidents, and solve problems.
· Share and cascade information and communicate goals.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
· Degree Qualified or equivalent relevant engineering, science numerical or quality discipline.
· Project management qualification AMP, PMI etc, with experience of successfully delivering multiple project and developing project management processes.
· Significant experience as a senior quality leader within technical or engineering organisations, where you have developed the quality approach and competence. Experience of doing this is a rapidly maturing organisation, would be a significant advantage.
· Experience of persuading and influencing Senior Leadership team, and senior technical management, to support the implementation of quality culture within projects.
· Expertise in concepts of verification and validation.
· Experience in developing, implementing, and managing risk management proves within projects.
· Experience of utilising and developing application of full Quality Toolkit across, project management, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing.
· Experience of developing, implementing, and managing the APQP/ PPAP processes, at strategic and project levels
· Strong and Proven managerial experience.
· Organised, persuasive, resourceful, flexible, ambitious, self-directing, passion for delivering objectives, comfortable challenging existing processes.
· Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external clients
· Must be a team player.
Desirable
Experience of HW, SW and technology development, demonstrating technology maturity Background and or experience of high performance, technology, aerospace as well as automotive.
