Position
The Lincoln School of Humanities and Heritage is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Roman Archaeology to cover the teaching and other duties of a member of staff during a period of externally funded research leave. This is a 0.95FTE 14‑month position, on the Teaching, Scholarship and Professional Practice (TSPP) pathway, offering employment from 1 October 2026.
Responsibilities
* Supervise undergraduate dissertations on a variety of Classical Studies topics.
* Act as Personal Academic Tutor.
* Represent the Classical Studies programme at Open and Offer Holder Days.
* Develop and deliver undergraduate lectures, seminars and workshops in a variety of Classical Studies topics, including Roman art and archaeology of daily life, ritual and religion, power and politics; introductory sessions on the archaeology of prehistory and the Roman period in Britain and the Mediterranean; epigraphy; the archaeology and heritage of Roman Lincoln; and digital methods in classical studies and landscape archaeology.
Employment Details
FTE: 0.95; Fixed‑term until 30 November 2027; Part‑time; Salary: £38,784 per annum.
