GSL Education are seeking dedicated and proactive Behaviour Support Workers to work in a school in Sheffield (S25).
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping students manage their behaviour, stay engaged in learning, and develop positive coping strategies. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals with SEMH experience who are passionate about supporting students facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Worker:
* Provide one-to-one support for students with SEMH and behavioural needs
* Support students in managing challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies
* Assist the teacher in delivering structured and engaging lessonsImplement behaviour support plans and intervention strategies
* Build strong, positive relationships to encourage student engagement
* Support students’ emotional wellbeing and social development
* Monitor and record behaviour and progress, reporting to staff
* Maintain a safe, calm, and structured learning environment
Requirements of a Behaviour Support Worker:
* Experience working with SEMH challenging behaviour in education, care, or youth settings is essential.
* Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
