Overview
Due to a team restructure, a new post has been created within the Medical Appraisal and Revalidation team for an enthusiastic and organised Administrative Assistant to join this small and friendly team which supports all UHMB employed doctors with their annual appraisal and 5 yearly GMC Revalidation renewals. This role is part-time, based at the RLI, but involves cross-bay work. We are part of the Chief Medical Officer's wider team.
Working environment
Working in Medical Appraisal and Revalidation is a specialised, confidential, and sometimes challenging role. The Postholder needs good all-round administration skills, feel comfortable dealing with medical staff at all levels, must be trustworthy, polite, kind, and deal appropriately with often sensitive and confidential situations. We provide an exemplary service to our stakeholders, including local hospices and private hospitals. You must be comfortable working in a very small team, and occasionally alone. The wider team is very supportive and together we enjoy a diverse and positive working atmosphere.
Locations
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
Services
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
