Retail Store Manager
£26,259 - £30,804 plus benefits
Reports to: Area manager
Department: Trading
Contract: 6-month fixed term
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Location: Southampton Portswood, Shirley, and Ferndown shops

We’re seeking a motivating store manager to join our trading team. You’ll act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, motivating your team to maximize sales and fundraising targets. Your shop will be a community hub where people meet, understand our brand, and see the great work we do.
What will I be doing?
* Guiding, inspiring, and engaging a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse team.
* Taking ownership of the commercial aspects of your store, including display, merchandising, stock management, maintaining standards, store layout, sales, and income.
* Leading by example and providing excellent customer and supporter service.
* Maximizing profit through effective cost control and sales strategies.
* Building relationships with the local community and colleagues.
* Organizing and running creative fundraising events to meet targets.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration, and HR policies.
* Performing manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.

You will spend 4 weeks in a training shop learning from a Training Shop Manager, possibly at a different location. Employment is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
