Rev & Regs are recruiting for a Legal Counsel role for a specialist Bank in London.
This role has a strong focus towards providing Legal Advice in relation to secured lending - UK Property market.
Key Responsibilities:
* Panel Management: Support law firm appointments, reviews, and facilitate effective engagement with external solicitors.
* Advisory: Provide fast, simple, expert, and practical legal advice to business colleagues.
* Precedent Documents: Advise on the suitability of terms, conditions, and legal documents to manage and mitigate risk.
* Processes: Guide the design and implementation of legal risk management processes.
* Training: Deliver legal training to business colleagues.
* Disputes: Advise on contentious matters, disputes, and litigation.
* Commercial Contracts: Assist with the review and negotiation of commercial contracts.
* Business Change: Provide legal advice and support for business change initiatives.
* Team Ambassador: Represent the legal team, ensuring business understanding of the Bank's legal risk model and appetite.
* Horizon Scanning: Monitor legal risk landscape changes and provide timely business advisories.
Skills and Experience:
* a solicitor qualified in the laws of England and Wales and holding a current practicing certificate.
* expert knowledge of structured / secured lending transactions; primarily in relation to property and primarily to UK SME business and individuals.
* good experience in one or more areas of: deposit accounts, commercial contracts, financial services regulation, data protection, employment law, corporate law, litigation.
* excellent practical experience and a strong track record of successfully advising stakeholders / ability to advise on a stand-alone basis to a standard equivalent to a senior associate or partner of a well-regarded law firm.
* English speaking with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Location: Hybrid - London, City.
Salary: £125,000 to £135,000 pa + bonus + benefits package
