Role Overview – Estimator
We’re partnering with a global engineering leader to recruit an Estimator to join their commercial and engineering operations in Tewkesbury. This is a pivotal commercial role responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting customer quotations, and ensuring all pricing data is aligned with business objectives and manufacturing capability.
Working as part of an organisation renowned worldwide for its advanced polymer engineering and manufacturing expertise, you’ll collaborate closely with teams across commercial, engineering, procurement, and production to produce robust estimates, analyse costing data, and support bids for new and existing business.

Key Responsibilities – Estimator
Prepare and develop detailed cost estimates for new and existing products based on customer specifications, drawings, and technical information.
Generate and maintain customer quotations using internal systems.
Build, update, and manage pricing tools, cost models, and estimation templates.
Analyse project and product costs to identify margin performance, cost drivers, and opportunities for improvement.
Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing processes to confirm accuracy of labour, material, and overhead assumptions.
Support the creation and validation of Bills of Materials for New Product Introduction (NPI).
Liaise with procurement to obtain material, component, and subcontract costs to support accurate estimating.
Assist in raising and processing tooling requests and supporting tooling cost assessments.
Ensure all cost and pricing data is accurately maintained within ERP systems.
Contribute to cross‑functional project work and continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating, pricing, and cost reduction.
Key Experience & Qualifications – Estimator
Experience in an Estimator, Costings, Commercial, or similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (desirable but not essential).
Comfortable working across both office and production environments.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret cost data and provide commercially sound recommendations.
Solid IT capability, particularly strong skills in Excel for costing and pricing analysis.
Experience using ERP systems (SAP or similar) is highly advantageous.
Confident communicator able to present cost analysis and pricing rationale to senior stakeholders.
Highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to manage competing deadlines.
Proactive approach, with a willingness to identify opportunities for cost improvement, process optimisation, and value engineering.
