About the role We are looking for a skilled and strategic communicator to lead the planning and delivery of communications and engagement across Children’s Services. This is a high-profile role where you will shape campaigns that support transformation, encourage take-up of key services such as fostering and early help, and promote our commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding. Working closely with senior leaders, partners, and elected members, you will provide advice on reputational issues, manage complex media matters, and ensure our communications are clear, inclusive, and aligned to the council’s values. You’ll also lead a small team, champion insight-led campaigns and support internal communications across the service. About you You’ll have significant experience in a senior communications role, ideally within a large or public sector organisation. Confident in advising at senior level, you’ll be politically aware and comfortable navigating sensitive or complex issues. You’ll be used to leading campaigns with measurable impact and working across channels including press, digital, and social media. Experience of working in a safeguarding or children’s services context is desirable, along with the ability to lead and inspire others. Interested?
