Farnham Castle is one of the most important historic buildings in the south of England. The multi-award-winning venue hosts weddings, private events and meetings, and with its professional in-house team of event specialists and talented chefs, has a first-class reputation for delivering outstanding events and incredible dining experiences.

In addition to its beautiful rooms and grounds, the Castle has 33 bedrooms available for overnight guests, and one bedroom suite.

The Role - General

Responsible for the delivery and presentation of all Banqueting for the business at Farnham Castle, and for the service levels and presentation standards of the casual and operational staff in Banqueting, to the standards set by the Venue Manager. Assisting with banqueting delivery across departments whilst adhering to the high standards of professionalism expected throughout the business.

Acting alongside the Events, Bar, and Operations Team for the preparation, set up, delivery and close of events.

Requirements of the Role:

Responsibility for all Banqueting delivery to the standards expected by the business for the delivery of weddings, events and conferences

Supporting the Event Management team with the delivery of weddings, events and conferences

Ensuring that all event menus, dietary requirements, and Call sheets are detailed and complete for Weekly Team Meetings and for daily delivery of functions

Managing and assisting with the banqueting delivery for Weddings, Corporate Meetings and Events

Responsibility for effective Rotas for waiting staffing and achieving staffing cost targets for Banqueting delivery

Responsibility for high standards of presentation for all banqueting functions

Meeting with Event Managers and clients for Event Details Meetings, as required

Training, supporting, developing and instructing casual staff in Banqueting delivery

Acting as Duty Manager for events, as required

Event Storage Areas: responsibility for effective organisation of Banqueting stock

-Inventory for crockery, cutlery and service items

-Storage organisation

-Quality and care of banqueting equipment

Responsibility for correct stocks of table linen and chefs linen, ordering of linen, managing linen reports and stock rooms, and achieving targets for linen costs

Managing and creating effective planning of daily jobs and tasks for the banqueting team and casual staff for all events

Compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations and standards across all departments

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Passion for hospitality - especially for banqueting services, weddings, events and functions

Ability to flex around business hours

Willingness to work extended hours and at weekends, as required
