Job Description:
In this role you will be part of a specialist SAP Basis team primarily providing support and maintenance activities to numerous secure and commercial accounts, with varying landscapes and SAP Solutions across multiple OS/DB platforms. On a day to day basis, you will play a more Senior BASIS role reporting directly to the SAP BASIS Lead, where you will be instrumental supporting the business-critical SAP Systems for our customers and mentoring the other members of the team where required. You will also be required to deliver and lead key tactical changes and landscape upgrades for client SAP environments. There are also opportunities to become involved in SAP technical delivery projects.
Key Responsibilities and Experience Required:
SC level clearance is a requirement for this role or an eligibility for SC.
To be considered for this role should be able to demonstrate significant experience of all BASIS areas including – Monitoring using SAP Solution Manager and other toolsets, performance management, backup and recovery and HA/DR, transport management, database administration and management, and be experienced in change control processes and procedures as well as incident resolution.
You will liaise with both internal and external customers, as well as being able to anticipate and manage escalations arising out of client support environments.
You will be required to be part of an on-call rota for out of hours cover.
Occasional weekend working maybe required to support project work or BAU activities.
Experience required in:
1. One or more SAP Technical Certifications (e.g. HANA, OS/DB migration, BTP)
2. Led the implementation, support and administration of multiple key SAP Technologies and Solutions (e.g. ABAP, Java, Business Objects, HANA, SoH, S/4HANA, Gateway, Fiori, ERP, BW, PO, Cloud, BTP etc)
3. Support and Delivery Lead experience across multiple SAP OS/DB Platforms (e.g. UNIX, Windows, Linux, HANA, Oracle, SQLServer, DB2, LUW, ASE)
4. Backup/Recovery/HA/DR Technologies and Processes
5. SAP Technical Updates and Upgrades
6. Good Infrastructure/Architecture awareness (Networking, Virtualisation, Storage, Middleware, OS Platform etc)
7. Cloud Based Deployment Experience and awareness (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Private/Public)
8. Input and contribute on continuous improvement/service activities.
9. Working & leading Client/Internal IT staff
10. Understand current/future SAP Technical Roadmaps.
