Position: Clinical Specialist Nurse – Dermatology
Type: Part-time (30 hours/week), Fixed-term (12-month maternity cover)
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Dermatology Nurse to join our dedicated team in a 12-month maternity cover role. This is a part-time position (30 hours per week), offering an exciting opportunity for a nurse passionate about delivering high-quality, specialist care to patients with skin conditions.
In this role, you will manage and deliver specialised dermatology clinics, including phototherapy, patch testing, systemic drug monitoring, and respond to patient inquiries via the dermatology helpline. The role also involves essential administrative responsibilities.
We seek a candidate with proven dermatology experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, patient-centred environment.
Main duties of the job
* Phototherapy Clinic: Administer treatments (narrowband UVB, PUVA) for conditions like psoriasis and eczema, monitoring response and safety.
* Patch Testing Clinic: Perform patch testing, follow-up, and patient education.
* Systemic Drug Monitoring: Monitor patients on systemic treatments, coordinate blood tests, and track side effects.
* Dermatology Helpline: Provide advice and support to patients via phone.
* Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, maintain records, and assist with audits and reporting.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse
* BSc (Hons) degree
* Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable: Registered with the NMC as a Specialist practitioner in Dermatology.
Experience
* Relevant clinical dermatology experience
* Experience managing dermatology patients
Desirable: Broad dermatology knowledge, experience delivering education.
