The G4S Security Manager position is key in supporting security operations at SZC Orwell Logistics Park and Ransoms Bus Operations Centre in Ipswich. This role includes managing security at Warehousing, Access Control, Offices, Postal and Consolidation Center (PCC), Freight Management Facility, and the Bus Operating Center.
The Security Manager will oversee the daily operational command of the security team at these locations, ensuring optimal use of assets to maximize security influence and compliance with G4S SSUK standards and SZC Policies. The role also involves deputizing for the Security Operations Manager - Off Site Infrastructure (OSI), who is their line manager.
Pay: Hourly salary at £22.14, approximately £51,807 per year.
Weekly hours: 45 hours, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for early/late shifts, nights, and weekends to support operations.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring Health & Safety is prioritized in service delivery.
2. Managing daily security operations, ensuring effective use of assets and compliance with standards.
3. Stabilizing and staffing the workforce appropriately.
4. Training, equipping, and supporting the security team.
5. Collaborating with contractors, clients, and principal contractors.
6. Providing security resources for incident response and emergency support.
7. Maintaining and updating security instructions and ensuring compliance.
8. Participating in business reviews and managing security personnel according to HR policies.
9. Leading and supporting security operations across sites.
10. Managing security for the Freight Management Facility and PCC in line with standards.
11. Attending stakeholder meetings.
Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, attention to detail, flexibility, innovation, planning, organizational skills, and customer focus.
Qualifications and Experience: Education in Maths, English, IT; Vocational security certification (L3/L5); experience in corporate, critical infrastructure, police, or military environments; managing large teams and equipment; project management; H&S knowledge.
Personal Qualities: Integrity, professionalism, trustworthiness, proactive attitude, effective communication, strategic planning.
Professional Qualifications: Risk Management, Project Management, IOSH; Occupational Requirements include SIA Licence, Physical Intervention Qualification, NVQ L3 Management, ability to pass security vetting, UK Driving License, and verifiable work history.
