Overview
The Regional Communications Director, EMEA is a senior, PR‑led communications leader responsible for shaping and executing integrated owned, earned, and paid communications strategies across Waters' priority Asia‑Pacific markets. This role is accountable for building brand awareness, strengthening reputation, and amplifying Waters' scientific leadership and business transformation narrative across the region.
Acting as the primary communications advisor to EMEA leadership, the Director localizes and activates global strategies while ensuring consistency with enterprise messaging, brand standards, and campaign priorities. The role partners closely with Global External Communications, Digital Communications, and Regional Marketing to ensure strong message pull‑through and measurable regional impact.
Responsibilities
PR & Media Leadership: Lead EMEA public relations strategy, including proactive media engagement, issues management, and executive visibility across priority markets.
Regional & Divisional Marketing Collaboration: Partner closely with regional and divisional marketing teams to align PR‑led owned, earned, and paid strategies with commercial priorities and integrated campaigns—ensuring consistent messaging, effective amplification, and measurable brand awareness across key markets.
Integrated Campaign Execution: Drive regional execution of owned, earned, and paid campaigns, localizing global narratives to resonate with customers, media, partners, and employees.
Brand Awareness & Reputation: Build and protect Waters' brand and reputation across EMEA through consistent storytelling, thought leadership, and high‑impact communications programs.
Localization & Market Insight: Translate complex scientific and business content into compelling, locally relevant stories while reflecting regional cultural and market dynamics.
Measurement & Optimization: Track performance through KPIs such as message pull‑through, earned media impact, paid campaign performance, and regional sentiment; use insights to continuously optimize strategies.
Qualifications
Exceptional written and digital communications skills.
Deep expertise in public relations and media strategy, with experience across owned, earned, and paid channels.
Ability to simplify and localize complex scientific and business information.
Strong strategic mindset with experience operating in diverse, multi‑market regions.
Proven ability to build trust and influence senior leaders.
Experience managing agencies and multiple communications programs simultaneously.
