Legal Secretary Location: Birmingham Salary: £Competitive Contract Type: Permanent Position Type: Full Time Closing Date: {Expiry Date} We are actively recruiting for a Legal Secretary to join our Serious Injury team in Birmingham. Working alongside our fee earners, we are seeking those who can provide administrative support, ensuring effective management of files from opening to archiving, whilst also handling post, dealing with enquiries where possible from clients, executive and external parties and lodging documents with the relevant courts, completion of court forms may also be required, whilst also ensuring new client enquiries are created through our Practice Management System. We would also be looking for those who can prepare precedent and non-precedent letters, simple and complex letters, attendances, and internal memoranda as appropriate and provide effective support, guidance and delegation to colleagues, along with conducting legal research. Other duties would include assistance with billing requirements, maintaining financial records and bill preparation. There will also be instances whereby outstanding costs and disbursements would need to be chased, along with ensuring paying in of cheques and managing the fee earners time recording, billing and debtor management. Ideally we are looking for those with previous experience as a Legal Secretary, who have demonstrable typing skills, taking instruction through speech recognition and managing multiple diaries. Please note that this role will be remote working, however, travel may be required to our office in Birmingham or Manchester (for the latter this would strictly be on an as-and-when basis).
