Overview
Bellevue Vets, a Silver ISFM-accredited practice in Frome, is looking for an experienced and confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit team and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the practice. This is an opportunity for a vet who enjoys autonomy, values high clinical standards and wants to make a real impact within a well-established community practice.
Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload with clinical freedom: patients include cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries, with a small number of exotics and wildlife. The caseload offers a healthy balance between consultations and surgery, with procedures largely routine but varied enough to keep every day interesting.
* Work cases up thoroughly, enjoy continuity where possible and practice medicine your way, with access to digital X-ray, ultrasound, VetAir dental equipment and multi-parameter monitoring. When needed, referral pathways are readily available to ensure the best outcomes for both you and your patients.
* Provide high standards of patient care within a calm, supportive environment and contribute to a team focused on growth and continuous improvement.
Practice and Facilities
* Housed within a beautifully converted, purpose-designed barn, the practice offers a calm and welcoming environment. Facilities include a spacious reception area, two consulting rooms plus a dedicated RVN consult room, prep area and theatre, lab, X-ray room, dispensary and a dedicated euthanasia room.
* Separate dog and cat wards with recovery kennels, isolation facilities, a comfortable staff room with kitchen and a large on-site car park, contributing to a smooth and supportive working day.
Schedule and Work-Life Balance
Full-time hours are 38 per week worked across four days, with part-time applications very welcome. The weekend commitment is 1:4 Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm, and there are no out-of-hours or on-call requirements, allowing you to enjoy a genuine balance between work and life outside the clinic.
Team and Development
You’ll be joining a friendly and experienced team of two vets, four RVNs and a dedicated client care team, all supported by an engaged Director of Practice. We also benefit from a visiting orthopaedics specialist and are open to supporting certificate study for vets looking to further develop their expertise. Giving back is important to us, and we’re proud to work alongside charities such as Dogs Trust and Cats Protection.
