Blackpool Coastal Housing manages almost 5,000 social housing properties across Blackpool, on behalf of Blackpool Council. BCH provides a wide range of housing-related services to the people of Blackpool. These include the provision of supported accommodation for both children and adults, emergency hostel accommodation for those that present as homeless and the management of several sheltered housing schemes, which are all in addition to our core functions of letting properties, collecting rents and providing neighbourhoods services to our tenant and leasehold customers, to create environments and communities in which our local residents can thrive.
Compliance Officer
Scale SO1: (£34,434- £36,363 per annum) 37 hours per week Permanent
At BCH we are committed to keeping our homes safe, compliant and well maintained for the benefit of our residents. Our Compliance Team plays a key role in meeting statutory and regulatory obligations while delivering a high-quality service. We are now looking to recruit a Compliance Officer to support this essential work.
About the Role
This role provides the opportunity to support BCH in meeting all statutory and regulatory compliance requirements. You will be responsible for monitoring work programmes and ensuring that all mandatory servicing, inspections and maintenance checks are completed within required timescales.
You will process and maintain statutory and regulatory certification, ensuring accurate records are held and available for audit and reporting purposes. A key element of the role is the management of the servicing and maintenance aspects of the Lifting Equipment contract, including liaising with contractors and monitoring performance to ensure compliance.
The role involves providing general administrative support to the Compliance and Services Team, supporting the effective delivery of services and contributing to a consistent, customer-focused approach. You will work closely with colleagues and external contractors to identify risks, escalate compliance issues where required and support continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate compliance records, supporting internal and external audits and ensuring that all information is handled securely and in line with data protection requirements.

Ideal Candidate
* Experience of working in a compliance, administrative or customer-focused role
* The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* An understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance within a housing, property or facilities environment
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately
* A minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths at grade 4/C or above
* Experience of working within housing, property services, a housing association or local authority environment is desirable but not essential.
