BRAND NEW ROLE - Cables & CBRA Lead - UK/Europe

We have an incredibly exciting bulk of work coming up with a new client who are looking to re-shape their marine engineering offering across Europe. This role will be the first of a new team creation for a major EPC as they look to strengthen their European presence initially.

* Scope

The Cables & CBRA Lead will be responsible for leading all technical, geoscientific, and strategic aspects of subsea and onshore cable systems across the full project lifecycle for our client. This includes the planning, design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of export and array cables; the management of the Cable Burial Risk Assessment (CBRA); and the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geoscientific datasets into all phases of project delivery.

The postholder will act as a client-facing technical authority, representing the organisation in meetings, presentations, and design reviews. They will ensure that all cable-related works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical, environmental and quality standards, providing trusted advice and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.

A professional background gained on either the client or contractor side of major offshore infrastructure projects is highly desirable, reflecting an understanding of both delivery and governance perspectives.

* Qualifications & Desirables

* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Geoscience, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in offshore cable design, installation and/or operations, ideally within the renewable energy or subsea sectors.
* Proven experience in CBRA methodologies, geophysical and geotechnical data interpretation, and integration into engineering design.
* Strong understanding of seabed processes, sediment dynamics, and geohazards relevant to subsea cable installation.
* Demonstrable competence in GIS-based spatial data management and analysis for cable route engineering.
* Proven track record of client-facing project delivery, including technical presentations, progress reporting and stakeholder liaison.
* Experience using industry-standard software (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Global Mapper, FME, Petrel).
* Strong grasp of applicable standards (e.g. DNV-ST, IEC, CIGRE, Carbon Trust, and ICPC guidance etc).
* Excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

This is an exclusive, world-first opportunity for this business who are seeking to find elite-level talent for this business critical role.
