Behaviour & Engagement Coordinator

Location: Teesside
Employment Term: Flexible, Temp to Perm
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, Ad-hoc

Teaching Personnel are delighted to offer an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Behaviour & Engagement Coordinator, supporting a range of schools across Teesside. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping young people with additional needs re-engage with learning and achieve their full potential.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to promote positive behaviour and engagement across lessons.
Deliver 1:1 and small-group mentoring to support students with self-regulation, confidence building, and resilience.
Assist in the implementation of individual behaviour and learning plans, ensuring consistent use of agreed strategies.
Maintain a calm and visible presence around the school to support routines, expectations, and continuity.
Contribute to enrichment activities, community engagement projects, and character development programmes, including support with work experience.
Champion the school’s reward and recognition systems, celebrating progress, success, and positive choices.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Experience working with children or young people in an education, care, or community setting.
Understanding of SEND, behaviour management approaches, and inclusive classroom practice.
Awareness of key frameworks such as the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding procedures, and GDPR.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of Zones of Regulation or similar behaviour/emotional regulation models.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively alongside teaching and support staff.
Confidence using assistive technology or adaptive learning tools to enhance student access.
A child-centred, patient, and creative approach to problem-solving.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students within a dynamic school environment.
Ability to drive and access to your own vehicle.
