We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemotherapy Ward Manager to join our team at the Laurel Suite at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. The Chemotherapy Ward Manager is responsible for taking the lead for the overall running of the Chemotherapy unit. This role provides clinical direction with strong, visible leadership to nursing staff, in partnership with allied health professionals and medical staff, acting as a point of contact for advice and expertise on all matters relating to both professional nursing and specific specialty issues. You will lead and execute the delivery of excellent clinical standards within cancer care, driving a culture of patient safety, clinical effectiveness and continuous improvement. Working in line with local and national guidance, you will provide specialist nursing advice across the hospital to support the delivery of high quality, individualised care to patients and relatives. You'll have the opportunity to shape the delivery of complex cancer care and to foster the development of the service, alongside your team members. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of compassionate, safe and high quality care delivery of all patients in line with the Nursing an Midwifery Council (NMC) Standards. The Unit Manager has a fundamental role in ensuring the caring environment is conducive to wellbeing and the effective delivery of budgetary, workforce and resource management. The post holder carriers continuing responsibility for their ward/department and will provide clinical leadership to the nursing team. In addition the post holder will: Lead the nursing team in the provision of safe and effective clinical practice. Enhance the patients’ experience of care. Manage and develop the performance of the team. Contribute to the delivery of the organisational objectives. Budget management for ward / department. Co ordination of care within the multidisciplinary team. Work closely with all members of the stroke team.
