Our client, a market leading specialist electrical contractor, is currently seeking an experienced Project Planner to join their team based in one of their Irish offices located in Slane. This permanent role involves overseeing construction projects from pre-construction to completion, with a focus on developing, improving, and monitoring project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Creating and managing project schedules, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure timely completion of projects, including capturing any variations.
Recommending modifications to improve effectiveness and achieve project milestones.
Preparing short- and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from key stakeholders.
Conducting regular site walks to assist site teams with planning matters.
Identifying potential risks and deviations that could hinder project schedules, resulting in delays and significant costs, and implementing corrective actions.
Gathering data, incorporating any changes in work scope, updating schedules, and developing reliable schedule forecasts with support from the project team.
Providing regular progress reports to site teams, highlighting concerns and developing mitigating measures to avoid delays.
Hosting progress planning meetings with internal and external teams to re-calibrate plans in line with progress.
Job Requirements:
Experience in project planning, particularly within the construction sector.
Demonstrable commercial experience with Primavera P6.
Experience in scheduling large, complex industrial and capital improvement projects, managing teams of schedulers.
Experience working on data centre projects is desirable.
Ability to communicate effectively and represent the company in client and contractor meetings.
A third-level qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferable but not essential.
