Our client in Cambridge are looking for an Lab Operations Manage to support Cambridge's innovation ecosystem with Labs that cater to the specific needs of start-ups.
You will be joining a growing team to operate a thriving lab grow-on space, which primarily involves to smooth running of the shared scientific facilities.
As the Lab Operations Manager you will be:
* Assist H&S and operations onboarding including reviewing the businesses’ lab chemicals and substances; establishing waste and cleaning requirements; connecting our customers with our recommended provides for lab equipment, movers and commissioning; and providing general facility inductions.
* Write and review documents as needed including risk assessments, policies, standard operating procedures and guidance documents.
* Assist in managing shared spaces and equipment including: liquid nitrogen dewar, autoclave, lab waste, -80s freezers, ensuring all laboratory equipment and plant is maintained safely.
* Proactive and reactive monitoring and maintenance of equipment, ensuring any areas of concern are rectified as soon as possible and facilitating repairs through our relevant equipment partners where necessary
* Drafting SOPs and Ras
* Keeping lab operations handbooks up to date and drafting new relevant chapters
As the Lab Operations Manager you will have:
* Experience and knowledge of working in a laboratory environment
* Experience in Health and Safety, preferably Biological Safety
* Ability to communicate confidently with scientists, contractors, partners and management
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft platforms and applications – Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Emergency Handling: Stay calm under pressure and effectively manage emergencies, alerting the right people as needed.
