Overview:
Complete internal and external Fire Risk Assessments, including visual and fully intrusive inspections. Advise clients on fire safety compliance within existing and new build schemes.
Role Requirements:
Lead and collaborate with a growing team, reporting directly to the Delivery Director.
Skills, Knowledge, and Understanding:
* Liaise with Clients, Contractors, Developers, Clerk of Works, and other stakeholders.
* Conduct Risk Assessments in accordance with current legislation.
* Provide pragmatic, cost-effective risk mitigation solutions.
* Support the growth and development of a small team, utilizing leadership skills.
Experience:
* At least 2 years PQE or 5 years' relevant experience.
* Experience with External Wall Risk Assessments.
* Knowledge of Compartmentation Surveys and retrospective fire strategies.
* Experience with refurbishment and recladding projects.
* MIFSM membership preferred.
* Membership with CABE, IFSM, or similar organizations desirable.
General Responsibilities:
* Meet or exceed Clients' Key Performance Indicators.
* Develop and maintain a Quality Management System.
* Assist in Business Development and client relationship management.
* Support clients in assessing their fire safety liabilities.
* Review and advise on existing fire safety documentation.
* Perform Fire Risk Assessments and compile detailed reports.
* Peer review reports from other Fire Engineers as needed.
* Work with the project team to develop cost-effective remedial solutions.
* Participate in client and resident meetings to discuss reports and findings.
Remedial Works:
* Assist in compiling Emergency Reports (ERs).
* Peer review contractors' proposals.
* Coordinate with the Clerk of Works and contractors for compliance checks.
* Attend site progress meetings as required.
Clients:
* Contractors, Developers, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and other clients.
