Are you a naturally empathetic, caring, and compassionate Support Worker in the UK with experience caring for people with learning disabilities?
Do you want a fulfilling career where you can make a difference and change lives for the better in a culture of kindness and teamwork? Where you’ll be supported with development opportunities to grow both personally and professionally?
Join Gresham House in Staplehurst as a Support Worker and provide care for people with severe learning disabilities, Autism, and challenging behaviors; supporting and encouraging them to lead full and valued lives, enabling more independence.
You’ll be great with people – a real ‘people person’, able to communicate effectively – explaining yourself clearly in the right tone to suit the situation and understanding others’ behaviors and expressions, as well as vocal cues. Having a good sense of humor, resilience, and a willingness to assist residents with personal hygiene are also important.
What you will be doing
You will join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care for people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Whether you have experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker, you will use your knowledge and skills to support people in leading a valued and fulfilled life.
It can be a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are essential. But it is also hugely rewarding to see the progress of those you support, achieving things they couldn’t do before.
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will use your excellent communication skills and experience in Learning Disabilities & Autism to support individuals through their care pathways.
Our rota includes weekday and weekend shifts from 7 am to 2:30 pm, and 2 pm to 9:30 pm, ensuring a balanced team effort. This is a permanent, full-time position with 35 contracted hours.
