Barnardo's Northamptonshire Keyworking Service for Children and Young People with a Learning Disability/Autism (up to the age of 25)
Are you passionate about children and young people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism having the right support, at the right time, in the right way, to remain living where possible in the community, avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions? If so this is the role for you.
Barnardo's are recruiting to a Keyworker post, at 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday). This post is currently fixed term to 30th June 2026, with the possibility of an extension. Though the post will predominantly be home based, the post does cover the whole county so there will be a requirement to work across Northamptonshire.
We are looking for a key worker with the following experience/skills
1. A willingness to learn the different systems and processes within Northamptonshire in other to support families and young people navigate the support and organisations they need.
2. Experience in supporting children with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism with Mental Health needs.
3. The ability to ensure the 'voice' of the child and family is central, enabling lived experience to create change.
4. Excellent team working skills and the ability to collaborate with and confidently present information to a range of professionals, respectfully addressing issues on behalf of CYP and their families.
5. Excellent communication skills, enabling communication with children, young people, families and professionals.
6. Robust safeguarding knowledge and good recording skills.
