Salary: £40,016 per annum + shift allowance + overtime
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Pipefitter. The role will be based in Glasgow and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern (please see details below).

They are looking for a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join their team in Clyde. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and installing piping systems across a range of projects in the defence sector. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of piping installations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Shift Patterns
* Day Shift: Monday-Thursday 7.00am-4.30pm
* Night Shift: Monday-Thursday 8.30pm-6.00am
Both the night shift and the weekend shift will include a 33% shift allowance on top of the basic rate.
Overtime is also available – see rates of pay below.
Pay Structure
* Monday-Thursday: 1.33 (Time and a 3rd)
* Friday: 1.5 (Time and a half for the first 4 hours) and 2.00 (Double time) for any hours thereafter
* Saturday: 1.5 (Time and a half)
* Sunday: 2.00 (Double time)
Responsibilities
* Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small-bore pipework using different materials (copper, CuNi, carbon steel and stainless steel)
* Using a range of hand tools & mechanical equipment to cut, bend and weld pipes as well as installation of pipework.
* Installing utilities aboard ship (i.e. sinks, showers, and toilets)
* Install and assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to drawings and specifications.
* Collaborate with other trades to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects.
* Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
* Maintain accurate records of work carried out.
* Shift allowance of 33% on both night and weekend shifts.
* Overtime Pay rates are as follows:

Qualifications
* Modern Apprenticeship certificate / Trade Papers (you will be required to provide these papers) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture, installation, and use of associated equipment.
* Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH and risk assessments.
* Proven experience as a Pipefitter or similar within an industrial or commercial environment.
* Experience in industrial or commercial settings preferred.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Experience in TIG pipe welding.
Security Clearance
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and therefore must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
