What you’ll be doing
as a Senior Project Manager
1. Developing and delivering optimised projects to achieve all regulatory, statutory and internal outputs, deadlines and targets
2. Engage with Asset Management. Engineering and Operations; identify synergies and using lessons learned from previous projects to agree the most effective solutions.
3. Inform business planning of delivery timescales and costs to execute works.
4. Delivering successful technical solutions that provide optimal value for money on a capital and whole life cost basis.
5. Managing and developing the project team in a culture of accountability and achievement.
6. Leading a customer focussed culture unrelenting in its pursuit of excellence in service delivery to both internal and external customers.
7. Proactively ensuring every customer touch point is a positive experience to remember.
8. Maintain strong external stakeholder relationships to actively protect and enhance Thames Water’s reputation to external customers and communities.
9. Establish and continuously promote a proactive health, safety & environment culture across Project and our service providers.
10. Delivering sustainable financial out-performance against approved budgets.
11. Commercially managing all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for Thames Water.
Location: Hybrid – Maple Lodge (WD3 9SQ) 2 days a week with flexibility to be on-site.
Working Hours: 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: £67,000 to £88,000 per annum depending on experience + £5,800 car allowance.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:
12. An experienced Infrastructure Senior Project Manager – with a background in delivering solution in complex, regulated environments, ideally water or utilities.
13. Understanding of the development of design, construction and operation of infrastructure or non-infrastructure projects.
14. Experience of leading the health and safety performance of the team.
15. A proactive, hands-on leader with the determination and enthusiasm to make a real impact.
16. Commercially astute, able to negotiate, develop strong contractual relationships and drive results with Tier 1 Contractors.
17. The ability to multi-task and manage several multi £million construction projects.
18. Excellent communication and listening skills with and engaging and open approach.
19. Prepared to travel and work across a number of sites.
Nice-to-haves that would make you stand out:
20. Chartered Engineer or substantial experience in a similar role.
21. Previous experience in the water industry.
