Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse to join a dynamic surgical team in Southend-on-Sea on an ongoing locum basis. Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and check orthopaedic instruments, equipment and consumables prior to surgical procedures
* Provide skilled scrub support to surgeons during orthopaedic operations
* Maintain a sterile field and adhere strictly to infection prevention and control standards
* Work collaboratively with the wider theatre team to ensure safe and effective patient care
* Support post-operative procedures and assist in patient recovery care
* Ensure accurate documentation in line with professional and organisational standards
Person SpecificationEssential
* Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with valid NMC or HCPC registration
* Proven experience working as a Scrub Nurse within orthopaedics
* Strong understanding of aseptic technique and theatre protocols
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Desirable
* Additional post-registration theatre qualifications
* Evidence of continued professional development
